Android gateway app
Install this on the phone whose SIM will send your messages. Pair it with your workspace, and your systems can send SMS through it over the API.
Version 1.0.0 · Android 8.0 or newer · needs a SIM card to send

Only needed if the one above will not install.
Installing the APK
Only needed if you skipped Google Play. Android asks for permission before installing an app from anywhere else, and that prompt is normal.

01
Download the APK on the phone
Open this page on the phone itself, or transfer the file to it.
-
02
Open the file
Android will ask whether to allow installing apps from this source. Allow it for your browser or file manager.
-
03
Install
Play Protect may warn you because the app is not from the Play Store. Choose to install anyway if you trust this download — verify the checksum above first.

04
Open the app and pair it
Sign in on a computer, go to Devices → Pair a device, and scan the code with the phone.
After installing
Keep it charged and online
The phone can only send while it is powered on and has data. It reports its own battery and signal to the dashboard.
Exclude it from battery optimisation
Android will otherwise stop the gateway in the background. Settings → Battery optimisation in the app opens the right screen.
Watch your SIM limits
Messages are billed by your mobile operator. Sustained volume from a consumer SIM is what triggers carrier blocking.
Keep it updated
Installed from Google Play, it updates itself. An APK install does not — check this page for new versions.
Permissions it asks for
Each one is explained in the app before Android's own prompt appears.
| Send SMS | Required. This is how messages leave the phone. |
| Read phone state | Optional. Lists your SIM cards so you can choose which one sends. |
| Notifications | Optional. Android requires a visible notification while the gateway runs. |
| Camera | Optional. Only to scan the pairing QR code. |
| Start after reboot | Optional, off by default. Resumes the gateway after a restart. |
It does not request permission to read or receive SMS. The gateway sends; it never reads your inbox.
